Mary's Boy

A tender vocal solo about Mary's possible feelings as the Savior grew up both as her son and as the Savior of the world.

Lyrics:

He was never just a baby; He came with Heaven's work to do,

And while she rocked and loved Him, Mary pondered all she knew.

But there were moment, quiet moments, as she held His little finger,

And brushed it 'cross her cheek, and wished for baby days to linger.

He was never just a child; He was about His Father's will,

So when the feast was over, they found Him in the Temple still.

But there were moments, lovely moments, as she watched Him grow in grace,

And times when she was sure that she saw heaven in His face.

For He was always Mary's boy

His mother's heart, His mother's joy

No matter what was in the days to come

He would always be her son.

He was never just a man, for He rose on the third day.

And we can all be saved if we follow in His way.

There was a moment, a tender moment, when He knew He would be gone,

That He said "Behold your mother" to His beloved John.

For He was always Mary's boy

His mother's heart, His mother's joy

No matter what was in the days to come

He would always be her son.

There were moments, sacred moments, between a mother and her Son,

And though He came to be her Savior, He would always be her Son.
